Now that I had a job, I set out to hire a motorbike. I found a decent looking automatic scooter, it was over priced but I was so eager to start driving around that I caved in and paid. I took it for a quick test drive, loaded my girlfriend on the back and drove home. Driving on the roads of Hanoi can be compared to high speed “dodge ‘em cars”. It is each for their own on these roads, you soon learn that you ignore everything behind you and only focus on the absent minded drivers ahead of you. All while hammering away at your hooter to make your presence known. We made it home safely and let out a sigh of relief.
